Is a Real Estate Agent a Secure Job in 2022?

The job security of a real estate agent is uncertain, according to a recent study by Oxford University. In a survey of more than 700 occupations, real estate was ranked as the most at-risk for job loss. In 1908, NAR had just 120 founding members. In 2022, it expects to have 1.4 million members. If these numbers are accurate, then home sellers and buyers can do without real estate agents today.
In terms of salary, real estate agents make an excellent living. The cost of training is minimal. A training program typically lasts two to three months and costs a couple hundred dollars. However, brokerage fees and multiple listing services can cost several thousand dollars. In addition to the training costs, real estate agents will also pay several thousand dollars for licensing. In other words, the job is a great choice for self-starters who like to work on their own.
A real estate agent’s salary will vary greatly, but is typically based on commission. The commission is typically a percentage of the sold price of a home. Less often, however, it is paid only when a transaction closes. The downside of this type of job is that it can be hard to make money, so agents may work for months without making a penny.
